Two neighboring Frank Lloyd Wright homes are on sale as a duo for $4.5M

American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, known for his “organic architecture,” designed more than 1,000 structures throughout his career, 31 of which were built in Michigan.

Now, a rare opportunity is available for fans of Wright’s work to purchase two homes he designed in Galesburg, Michigan: The Pratt House and The Eppstein House.

The homes are located in The Acres, a 70-acre wooded community, and were first designed for a group of pharmaceutical researchers. Although 21 homes were planned, only five were built, with four designed by Wright.

Like his other homes, the pair on sale has flat roofs with overhangs, a carport, a hearth, and radiant heating beneath concrete floors.

The Eric and Pat Pratt House, originally constructed in 1951, was acquired in 2021 by its current owners. The residence went under a comprehensive renovation project that included installing a new roof, modernizing the electrical and plumbing systems, and refreshing the banquette seating.

The house, spanning 2,200 square feet, boasts two bedrooms and bathrooms, a versatile library or music room, and inviting outdoor terraces. The home showcases an elegant mahogany interior, lofty 10-foot ceilings, and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. Additionally, a pottery studio has been remodeled to serve as a flexible space suitable for use as a workshop or office.

Originally constructed in 1953, the Samuel and Dorothy Eppstein House was bought by its current owners in 2016. The house spans 2,250 square feet and has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with an elegant mahogany interior.The residence offers three terraces and two living rooms equipped with fireplaces. Notably, one of these living rooms features a stunning 10-foot-tall glass wall that opens onto a terrace.
