“I'm glad these guys came to Detroit. This is a straight forward burger and shake/Ice cream joint. Only a couple of choices on the menu for burgers but I tried them all and everyone is a hit. They were out of chicken strips so can't comment on those. The waffle fries with cheese, scallions and other delisc bits called "dirty-dipped waffles" are a MUST! Drink selection is limited but quality choices. The shakes and ice cream are just as good as the rest of the menu. This is a good choice for mid-day snacks or that early evening gnosh.” - M T.

I had the Omelet Verdue and my husband had the Grilled Filet Tips and Eggs..we also shared a side order of the Crispy Brunch Potatoes. Everything was delicious. We really had the best service, the manager named Gabe came up to our table to ensure we were satisfied with our meals and wanted to ensure we were having a great time. “This is such a cute place with the best service! There is a lot of parking along the street. I ordered the lavender chai latte, and omg this was the best chai latte I've ever had! It was hot, spicy, and so delicious. They also have an assortment of Zingerman's pastries (YUM), and they toasted a chocolate croissant for me. Loved everything about this place!

COVID-wise, they do a good job. There is a large hand sanitizer station right as you walk in, and everyone in the store was wearing masks properly. Only credit/debit cards right now d/t covid, and all tables were moved away.” - Kelly Y.

Menu: the pictures speak for themselves. There are SOOOOOOO many options of desserts to choose from. Eclairs, tarts, macaroons, breads, you name it. I tried the Berry lemonade dessert: meringue covering a soft cake with almonds and lemon merengue on the inside. Light, sweet, tart... a party in your mouth. Both of my parents had fruit tarts and raved about their light flaky crusts and perfectly sweet toppings.

Ambiance: My dad has travelled throughout Europe and felt nostalgic walking into this cafe. From the dessert options to the coffee, he felt as if we walked thousands of miles to France and stopped in this little shop. Staff was attentive and kind.

“Wow - what a cool place. it is a converted church, hence its name, and they did such a nice job. Both the outdoor area and inside are nice and spacious - the outdoor area includes a deck as well as a yard with large tables, surrounded by gardens with a park across the street. Inside has tables and church pews, and the restrooms are immaculate. (No pun intended.) This is the perfect place for a large group, even without reservations.

They have fancy coffees as well as cocktails, local beers and wine, and a great selection of non-alcoholic cocktails, which I love! This time I tried the Wise Man, which is a bourbon-like drink with mint and honey - slightly sweet and herby; perfectly balanced and pretty to look at. Also, the bakery items look amazing! I didn't try any of the food, but the menu looks very interesting, and I already can't wait to return to this Boston Edison neighborhood gem. “Rocco's is simply perfect ::cue heart eyes:: We pick up their delicious food on random days when we don't know what else to get and all of the nearby sit down restaurants have waits. The meatball sub is always there for us, haha :) I've also had Rocco's at a baby shower, and she said they were really easy to work with. The food there seemed really fresh, and I split a few sandwiches with people - every single one was great.

Lastly, today I made my first large takeout order (take and back entrees with charcuterie kits) and it was so simple and easy, makes me less stressed to host for friends tonight. The guy on the phone (I think I might've talked with two...one was named Christian) answered 4 or 5 of my questions even though it sounded busy in the background. I hate asking questions/bothering people in general because I used to work in the restaurant industry. But the employees here made me feel like the focus was on me, they answered my questions fully, and even came up with some extra things I hadn't thought of ("If you want to tell me the name of the online order, I can write a note to substitute..."). “We went to Olin with another couple and shared three appetizers and entrées. The restaurant and bar are nicely designed and have an open kitchen. The staff was very knowledgeable and took very good care of us. We started with their house bread which was a delicious pretzel served with everything butter. We all loved it. Then we ate the chicken liver tartine. It was perfectly balanced. Even people who hate liver pate probably would've enjoyed it. We all loved it. Next came the arancini which were tender and crispy and delicious. All four of us agreed it was the best Arancini we've ever had. That followed with the charred octopus. It was a really good dish. We then shared the sole which was designed to serve two people. It was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The last course was the paella which was very good, but not our favorite of the evening.
