Obviously, Corktown is the place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. On Sunday, Detroit’s historic Irish neighborhood hosted its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, now in its 67th year. This year’s event honored Joan O’Halloran as its 2025 Grand Marshal, a longtime member of the metro Detroit Irish American community. Alongside her husband Tom, O’Halloran owned and operated Detroit’s former Tipperary Pub, which promoted Irish culture and music throughout the years. Hosted by the United Irish Societies, the parade typically draws between 80,000 and 100,000 people to Corktown.
