In Dearborn, metro Detroiters gathered on Sunday to commemorate the Nakba, also known as the Palestinian Catastrophe, or the creation of Israel in 1948. This year’s march came following news that Israeli Police attacked the funeral of Palestinian American reporter Shireen Abu Akleh, who was fatally shot while covering an Israeli raid on a refugee camp in the West Bank.
The event was organized by the Palestinian Youth Movement.
