The Edward F. Fisher Mansion, a historic gem in Detroit’s Boston-Edison Historic District, will open for an exclusive estate sale this week.
Presented by Aaron’s Estate Sales, the sale runs from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3, inviting the public to explore and acquire unique items, including antique furniture, custom art, vintage clothing, collectibles from the early automotive era, and a custom dining table by Detroit glass artist Ron Slater.
Built in the early 20th century, the 10,000-square-foot Renaissance Revival mansion was designed by Richard H. Marr, known as the “Architect of Midwest Millionaires.” Edward F. Fisher, a prominent figure in Detroit’s automotive history, commissioned the mansion. With over 30 rooms, it boasts stained glass windows, Venetian details, Italian marble fireplaces, and intricate Pewabic tilework.
“This sale consists of high-quality fine furnishings and art in wonderful condition. There is also an amazing vintage clothing collection that is not to be missed,” Aaron Siepierski, Founder and CEO of Aaron’s Estate Sales, said in a press release. “Each piece tells a story from Detroit’s past, and it’s incredibly exciting to share these historic treasures with the public. The Fisher Mansion is not just a home; it’s a piece of Detroit history, and we’re honored to handle such a remarkable estate.”
Originally a private residence for the Fisher family, the mansion later served as a Jesuit residence under the Archdiocese of Detroit and returned to private ownership in the 1970s. It is currently listed for $2,200,000.
“There is something here for everyone,” Siepierski added. “Whether you’re a collector, decorator, or history buff, this sale offers a chance to step into Detroit’s past and take home a part of its legacy.”
