Estate sale of Noir Leather founder Keith Howarth shows a life lived on the wild side [PHOTOS]

For nearly 40 years Keith Howarth owned and operated Royal Oak kink shop Noir Leather, which helped make the once-sleepy suburb one of Detroit’s most fun. Howarth handed the business over to new owners and after years of chemotherapy treatment for a brain tumor that left him paralyzed, his possessions are now being sold in “a one-of-a-kind” estate sale at his Pleasant Ridge home.

According to the listing via Aaron’s Estate Sales, minors must be accompanied by adults due to “graphic and adult content.” Items include bondage gear, erotic artwork, lots of mannequins, alternative rock LPs and memorabilia, vintage toys, taxidermy animals, ephemera like issues of Detroit’s former Orbit magazine, and many other curios. The sale starts Thursday and runs through Sunday, and more information including schedule is available at the listing at estatesales.net.
