A Bloomfield Township home designed by Minoru Yamasaki, architect of the former World Trade Center as well as a number of other striking mid-century modern buildings in the Detroit area including Wayne State University’s McGregor Memorial Conference Center, has been listed for sale.
Built in 1957, the 3,700-square-foot home has six bedrooms and three bathrooms and sits on a 2.64-acre property. It also comes with a backyard pool.
According to Crain’s Detroit Business, the home has been owned since 1988 by Sameer Eid, the restaurateur behind the popular Phoenicia and Forest restaurants in Birmingham and Leila in downtown Detroit.
The home is located at 5280 Brookdale Rd. and listed at $2.95 million by Dylan Tent of Signature Sotheby’s International Realty.
