At Motor City Pride, the vibe was a bright outlook and bright looks. Even if the weather was overcast, that didn’t stop the rainbows from showing up this weekend. A plethora of people attended, with excitement buzzing with members from the LGBTQ+ community from all walks of life. With multiple music stages and local as well as more corporate vendors, Motor City Pride felt especially alight with queer joy.
Sunday started out more overcast, but had an even larger crowd than Saturday, with packed bleachers at Hart Plaza. A fallen tree and end-of-day rain Saturday didn’t affect the Sunday festivities downtown, with everyone turning out and turning it UP in their best LOOKS. Performers had enthusiastic crowds, and even IKEA had booth that had a longgg line. Overall, Motor City Pride ’24 definitely kick started Pride Month in Detroit with a loud, bright BANG of positivity.
