"I don’t know what inspired me to skin a stuffed animal and staple it to a baby doll," 25-year-old Chris Sandon says of the subject for this quirky shot. The furry hybrid is one of about 10 of Sandon’s zany creations. Pandas, raccoons and lions are among the rest of the lot, all made from materials the artist scavenges from garage sales and thrift shops. Sandon, a two-time dropout from Eastern Michigan University, works mainly as a painter and sculptor, but began dabbling in photography to capture his eccentric creatures on film. He used his dad’s old camera to take the picture, noting that the long exposure’s resultant blur was "fairly accidental."
