A Black-owned dispensary in Detroit’s Milwaukee Junction is launching its grand opening Saturday with plenty of giveaways, food, and live music.

Simply Loud, located at 216 E. Milwaukee Ave., carries hundreds of products, including 260 types of vape cartridges and disposables, 150 kinds of infused prerolls, fresh flower in the deli, edibles, and concentrates.

The interior is unlike any other dispensary in metro Detroit, decked out with stylish Herman Miller furniture, eccentric wall art, handmade shoes and jewelry, and sculptures, including from local artist Tim Burke.

“We pretty much have everything cannabis-related — all the top shelf flower, edibles, concentrates, rosins, and infused prerolls,” Simply Loud General Manager Joseph Salmassi tells Metro Times. “We pretty much have it all.”

The grand opening begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, and the first 100 customers get a free eighth of flower. First-time customers also get 25% off.

In the deli, the dispensary has flower from cultivators such as Glorious, Grown Rogue, Uplyfted, Society C, Pressure Pack, Panda, Express One, and Epic Gardens. The grams range from $5 to $20.

Some of the top shelf strains include Gary Payton, Sherbanger, Blue Wavy Flakes, and XO Runtz.

The owner is Dr. David Hazel.

The dispensary is in a prime location because it’s close to New Center and Midtown, which have no other dispensaries.
