Horoscopes (Aug. 2-8)

By Metro Times editorial staff

LEO (July 21-Aug. 20): Well here you are; ready for anything. This could turn out to be a dream come true, but don’t discount the idea that your hopes are a hell of a lot higher than what you are about to experience. You need to keep your feet on the ground and be careful not to put too much faith in the wrong people. Too much Pie-in-the-Sky is a big “No-No” right now. Keep things simple. Just follow your heart. Some of you are getting hassled by lesser mortals. Their motives are sketchy at best. These days there is no room for that kind of manipulation. Never fear. You will be vindicated in no time.

Louie’s Ham & Corned Beef 3570 Riopelle St, Detroit; 313-831-1800 Just from the name you know what you’re in for at this Eastern Market deli: cured meat that’s tangy, lean, and rich. They don’t skimp on your sandwich either. The diner style spot serves burgers, deli sandwiches, and all-day breakfast. They even have a drive-thru option, though you’re best bet is coming inside for great service and hot food while hanging out in their spacious dining area. Horoscopes (July 26-Aug. 1)

by Cal Garrison

By Metro Times editorial staff

LEO (July 21-Aug. 20): You can run circles around everyone in the room. This ability has been cultivated over years of finding yourself in situations that have required you to think on your feet. In your current situation the feeling that every base has got to be covered has got you running around trying to figure out how to please people. This will be easier for some of you than it will be for others. By the time you read this more than one axe will fall, and it will take two more weeks for the truth to come out in the wash. Coming to terms with things will require radical moves on your part.

Horoscopes (July 19-25)

By Metro Times editorial staff

LEO (July 21-Aug. 20): You've got everything going for you. What happens from here on out? It all depends. Those of you who are strung out on money and things will have a tougher time than the ones who know that money and things are a trap. It would be good if you could put your power, greed, and ego stuff aside, long enough to tune in to what your heart wants out of all of this. With one foot on the brakes, and the other one on the gas pedal, before you move forward take a minute to reflect on your choices and be aware that the only one that matters will require you to make it from the heart.

CANCER (June 21-July 20): Whatever’s taking forever is about to turn a corner. Whoever has been holding you back has changed their tune. Something inside has shifted enough to move these mountains in your outer reality. As new patterns begin to merge into a normal routine, you begin to see what’s happening and have a clearer view of the horizon. More work is required before you’ll see where this is going. Other people have their own ideas about it. You can take their needs into account, but only up to a point. Both of you need to want for each other what the other wants for themselves.

Otus Supply 345 E. Nine Mile Rd., Ferndale; 248-291-6160 The restaurant might be best described with the phrase "fine dining hippies." The food is reminiscent of a California Cuisine/New American approach: There are pizzas, small plates, and a few larger items, and they're all centered around an ingredient-forward approach. At Otus Supply, you can see what a kitchen full of dedicated and talented staff can do in a restaurant where there's live music every night, ranging from Grateful Dead and Johnny Cash cover bands, to dubstep brass, to local groups just making their name.
