A couple things to note about Detroit's annual
Winter Blast this year:
First, it is once again billed as the Meridian Winter Blast, not the Motown Winter Blast as it was when it originally debuted 10 years ago in anticipation of Super Bowl XL. So if you say, "Motown Winter Blast," nobody's going to know what you're talking about. Seriously.
Second, a 300-foot zip line joins the list of outdoor activities this year. The "Bedrock Zip Line Adventure" takes attendees 34 feet up in the air, and even allows two people to zip simultaneously. While zip lines don't strike us as a particularly wintry activity, it sounds fun and we'll probably try it nonetheless (we're sure it'll be chilly). The Bedrock Zip Line Adventure will begin at Woodward Ave. and Gratiot Ave. Tickets are $10 for one or $15 for two.
