One food truck is rolling into downtown with green fare for St. Patrick's Day. El Charro, home of the famous "puffy taco," is putting an Irish spin on its signature menu item in honor of everyone's favorite boozy holiday.
El Charro's food truck will be posted up in Campus Martius Park with green puffy tacos from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., helping to kick off Downtown Street Eats.
The green tacos will also be available at all four of El Charro's restaurants on Saturday, March 17.
The family-owned Mexican restaurant chain is well-known around metro Detroit for the unique soft tacos that features a deep-fried corn shell. Between its four restaurants and food trucks, nearly 12,000 of the tacos are served each week.
