The No. 1 corporate critic — and the Green Party’s 2000 presidential candidate — is scheduled to speak at Wayne State University on Monday, April 2, on the need for a third-party political system. The one-hour lecture, “Breaking the Two-Party Duopoly: The Role of Progressive Political Movements,” is sponsored by the Student Alumni Association and will be held at the Community Arts Building at 2 p.m. News Hits, perverse creatures that we are, plans to show up just to see how much hell ’ol Ralph catches from die-hard Dems who still blame him for Prince Albert’s loss to the Shrub. That same week the WSU School of Social Work is holding it’s annual “Take Back the Night” rally to protest sexual assault and violence against women. Detroit City Council President Pro-Tem Maryann Mahaffey will attend — and she expects to see you there as well.
“How dare any women not participate!” says Mahaffey.
The event begins at 4:30 at Gullen Mall on Wednesday, April 4.
