Data compiled the National Weather Service shows that the April we just experienced was the 13th coldest on record, with an average temperature of 43 degrees. That's six degrees colder than what's typical in this area for the first full month of spring.
Though the wintry April weather hasn't held back today's May 1 warmup, some forecasters predict Michigan's mild spring will bleed into summer. According to the Weather Network, near normal temperatures are expected for most of the midwest next season, even though above-average temperatures are predicted in much of the rest of the country.
