Redford Township has always been a nice place to live. People buy their first homes here, raise their children and generally want to keep their properties aesthetically pleasing. Which makes 14133 Crosley the proverbial sore thumb. The house has been vacant since a fire in September 2002.

Township officials say they want to deal with the eyesore, but their hands are tied because the property’s ownership is being fought over in probate court.

That doesn’t offer much comfort to neighbors. Paige Pruden who lives across the street from the property says, “I would love to see it fixed. I have had to stare at it every day for over a year now.” Other neighbors have also proposed buying the home in an effort to beautify the neighborhood. However, until a probate court decides who actually owns it, nobody’s going to be buying it.
