Over the weekend, Republican gubernatorial running mate Linda Posthumus Lyons suffered the devastating loss of her family home.
According to the official Lisa Posthumus Lyons Twitter account, the incident occurred on Sunday with a fire that started in the garage. Fortunately, all family members are safe.
The family home of Republican Lieutenant Governor nominee Lisa Posthumus Lyons today suffered significant fire damage and is likely to be a total loss as a result of a fire that started in the garage.

All of Lisa’s family members are accounted for and safe.
Both Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Schuette and Democratic candidate Gretchen Whitmer expressed their sympathy for the loss of Posthumus Lyons' home.

According to a statement made to The Detroit News by Posthumus Lyons' spokesperson, John Sellek, "The family lost everything, so they are assessing the situation and her schedule."
The family is currently assessing where they will temporarily relocate.
