Speaking of Ben Lefebvre, we're disappointed to inform our readers that his ethanol piece was also his last MT cover story. Ben wasn't with us long, but he produced some outstanding work during his stay here. His cover stories detailing problems and concerns with transportation mogul Manny Moroun's empire-building provided insight and revelations found in no other Detroit media.

Ben, who pulled up stakes to take a newspaper job in the Chicago area, was also a prolific contributor to this column. His wit, hard work and enthusiasm will truly be missed.
