That smell coming from your AM dial might as well be wafting from the commode. Organizers of the “Flush Rush” campaign have their work cut out for them as Rush Limbaugh, the big cheese of the radical right, floats up to a new position in AM radio’s BCS (the Bowl Championship Series pitting the likes of Dr. Laura, Don Imus and Howard Stern against the original master of bad karma). Starting March 1, 760 WJR-AM moves the eminently reasonable and intelligent David Newman to 8-11 p.m., with Dr. Laura moving to 9-11:30 a.m. and Limbaugh taking over the rabid doctor’s former spot from 12:05-3 p.m. Under the circumstances, WXYT-AM, Limbaugh’s present broadcaster in the Detroit area, decided it was time to cut the cheese.
