Nikita Sanches and fiancée Jessica Imbronone of Hamtramck's Rock City Eatery will undoubtedly add some color and personality to CNBC's Restaurant Startup, which makes its season debut tonight at 10pm. And although they're sworn to secrecy as to how things turn out in the long run, viewers aren't the only ones in the dark. "Every team was on their own," says Sanches, "so none of us know how the other teams did."
"I can't wait to see how the other teams did under the pressure of working with Joe [Bastianich] and Tim [Love]," he says. "Because it was extremely tough when we did it."
Tough or not, they're sure to keep things interesting. Anyone who has seen the size of the minuscule kitchen at Rock City Eatery (or their other Hamtramck establishment, Campau Tower) knows that Sanches is capable of pulling out some pretty miraculous things.
Compared to Shark Tank, the show claims to be on a quest to unearth, develop, and invest in the next big culinary stars. Bastianich and Love are established restaurant businessmen, and have brought culinary consultant Antonia LoFaso along to properly fill out the show's triumvirate of judges.
Be warned, however, that Sanches and Imbronone will unfortunately not be appearing in the show's first two episodes. So, if you're tuning in just for the duo, you might have to skip the first few ...
