Judgment day is nearly upon us and old JC himself is set to return, and then the world will burst into flames in October 2011, thus the end.
No shit.
And according to this
AP report, at least one Christian group is chirping the return of
Jesus Christ with billboards in select American cities, including Nashville, Omaha, and soon Detroit, all in time for Christmas.
Allison Warden — a founder of Raleigh, N.C.-based We Can Know, a group helping the billboard campaign — told AP that an analysis of Scripture shows Jesus will come, and that “God actually provides a calendar that points to May 21, 2011.”
The broad roadside JC ad sports a biblical excerpt from Ecclesiastes: “...a wise man’s heart discerneth both time and judgment.” The billboard also shows what appears to be three (wise) dudes atop camels in the sandy night, guided by the star of Bethlehem.
Jesus, good luck at the border, man.
More billboard stuff from AP:
Those cities were chosen, Warden said, because she didn't think they were getting the message about Jesus' return, which is touted on Family Radio stations but are not available in those areas. Family Radio is an Oakland, Calif.-based nonprofit that broadcasts Christian messages around the world.
Warden said Family Radio paid for the first batch of billboards -- those in Nashville -- and individual donors covered the cost of the others.
