A 31-year-old jogger who was shot and killed Saturday in Rose Township has been identified as Alexandra Nicolette Brueger of Holly Township.

A 911 call was made at about 2:35 p.m. Saturday that a woman had been shot and was on the front lawn of a home in the 11000 block of Fish Lake Road, according to the Michigan State Police. Brueger was taken to Genesys Health System, where she was pronounced dead.

Police are searching for a white or light-colored sedan that may have been on Fish Lake Road between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday. The car may have been driving suspiciously or at a high rate of speed, according to police.

Brueger may have been familiar with the shooter, and investigators are trying to determine if she had "been having some kind difficulties" with someone, Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw told The Detroit News

Troopers are currently canvassing the area and gathering evidence from the crime scene, Shaw said.

The Michigan State Police have indicated the killing was not a random act, Rose Township Supervisor Dianne Scheib-Snider told the News.

Scheib-Snider is advising residents to be aware of their surroundings: "Whoever did this is still on the loose."

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 877-MICH-TIP.
