President Barack Obama and former president Bill Clinton will stump for Michigan's Democratic gubernatorial and U.S. Senate candidates in the coming weeks,
according to the Detroit News.
The expected campaign appearances for Mark Schauer, who is seeking to overturn incumbent Republican Gov. Rick Snyder, and U.S. Rep. Gary Peters, who hopes to win the congressional seat to be vacated by Michigan's Carl Levin,
were first reported by Metro Times last week. Clinton will appear at an event in Flint sometime next week, the
News says; we've been told that will likely take place on Tuesday.
No details on Obama's visit were immediately available. The visits follow campaign appearances from First Lady Michelle Obama and Clinton's wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
