The midterm elections are a little over a month away and with that comes a final push by Republicans and Democrats to get their candidates elected.

Today, Barack Obama released his "second wave" of midterm endorsements, following his initial round of endorsements announced on Aug. 1. Included in this second round are a slew of Michigan candidates, including Democratic candidate for governor Gretchen Whitmer, her running mate Garlin Gilchrist II, Elissa Slotkin for Michigan's 8th Congressional District, and Haley Stevens for Michigan's 11th, among others.
Gretchen Whitmer followed up with a tweet saying, "I'm so honored to have the support of Barack Obama!"
The second wave of endorsements is a part of a bid by Obama and the rest of the Democratic party to help facilitate a "blue wave" that will Congressional seats held by Republicans. Obama's endorsements feature candidates from several states, including New York's rising star, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who made headlines after upsetting congressional incumbent, Joe Crowley in the midterm elections.

Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 6. For information on your voter registration and voter precincts, you can head to the Secretary of State website.
