Former Siren and Outrageous Cherry Aran Ruth spent a whole year in the Motor City without a car after her 1990 Oldsmobile boat-wagon got nicked in Hamtramck. With no transpo, the fetching Ruth became a familiar face on the hourlong Smart Bus #460, which she took from Detroit to her day gig at Neiman Marcus in Troy.
The bus rides ended a few weeks ago when noise hero Aaron Dilloway stepped in and bequeathed Ruth his fine 1996 Ford Aspire. (Dilloway, we’re told, had originally paid a hefty $250 for the loud, muffler-free ride.)
Though her new Aspire is tiny, its roar can frighten a Harley and get a whole neighborhood of dogs barking up cacophony. Says Ruth, “It muffler-lessness makes it the perfect Detroit car. It aspires to be the loudest car on the block!”
(Rumor has it that Ruth is about to start some kind of solo thing for Steve Nawara’s soon-to-be-launched label.)
