Spindly Ann Arbor rock ’n’ roll crooner Dan Mulholland (the Urbations, the Watusis, the Navarones and the Shanks, currently fronting the Boomerangs) makes a big impression cruising town in his fetching, top-of-the-line 1950 Nash Ambassador Custom. He’s owned the car for seven years and it’s his third Nash (he owned both a 1940 and a 1946 Nash). “I ride this around town all the time. And it’s a blast to ooze down country dirt roads at 15 mph to let the cows, pigs, chickens and frogs get a good look at her,” the singer says.

Note that the first Nash Ambassadors were built in 1932, the last ones rolled off the Kenosha, Wisc., line in 1957, two years after Nash merged with Hudson to form American Motors.
