Frequent viewers of the painful symbol of downtrodden Detroit might have recently noted that there is now a single, vertical row of half-windows that have been installed in Michigan Central Station.

Here you can make them out (click the image to enlarge), four windows from the left, on the South West side of the building.

According to sources, the plan is to rehabilitate the elevator shaft (so they need to close off that space, hence the new windows) in order to then have the roof re-done.

One step at a time, folks. How long do you think it'll take to a) get the elevator shaft finished and to code and then b) fix the roof?

Only your best, more realistic guesses, please.
