Kwame Kilpatrick is now in good company — if by good company you mean bad people.
The disgraced former Detroit mayor was moved to a low-security federal prison in New Jersey on Wednesday, where he has a new neighbor — Martin Shkreli, aka the notorious "Pharma Bro" who drew ire when he raised the price of a lifesaving drug by more than 50 times.
Kilpatrick is serving a 28-year sentence for racketeering while mayor. Meanwhile, Shkreli is serving seven years for securities fraud and one count of conspiring to commit securities fraud.
Aside from their rap sheets, the two criminals could discuss their mutual love of hip-hop. Kilpatrick, of course, earned the reputation as Detroit's self-proclaimed "hip-hop mayor." Last month, his son Jonas Kilpatrick (aka JoJo tha Doughboi) dropped "Too Much Time," a rap video released as part of a wider movement to #FreeKwame. Meanwhile, Shkreli once owned rare hip-hop records, including Wu-Tang Clan's Once Upon a Time in Shaolin and Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V, before he was forced to give them up in forfeiture.
