A big grand opening is planned for Detroit's HopCat location this Saturday, after a VIP reception Friday night. Doors to the new location will open at 11 a.m. on Dec. 13 and there will be a world recording-breaking 120-tap takeover thanks to Short's Brewing Co.
The first 200 people in line will get a card redeemable for a free order of Crack Fries every week FOR A YEAR and everyone who attend's Saturday's grand opening party will also get a free portion of the delicious side dish that day.
The line is expected to start forming around 10 a.m., so get there early if you're hoping for that special golden ticket. 'Round 9 p.m. HopCat's second floor entertainment venue, the Huma Room, will open for a free show by the Howling Diablos and Pitchblak Brass Band.
We strolled by the location last Saturday (an evening better known as Noel Night), an noticed quite a bit more work still had to be done to the space's interior. No doubt, everything will come together at the last minute.
HopCat Detroit is located at 4265 Woodward Ave., Detroit on the corner of Canfield in Midtown.
