HopCat, named the third best beer bar on the planet by BeerAdvocate.com, has announced it will open its fifth location in Ann Arbor in January 2015.

The bar will be found in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor and will feature 100 taps of craft beer paired with "food your mom would make if she loved beer", a menu that will consist of HopCat favorites like CrackFries along with sandwiches, shareable items, entrees, and more. The 8,600 square foot bar will offer seating for more than 300 guests, with additional outdoor seating available depending on the season.

Opening the bar will cost more than $2 million and will create 140 jobs. In preparation of the bar's opening, resumes for potential managers are now being accepted, with hourly staff being added in the fall. Resumes can be sent to annarbor.jobs@hopcat.com

“Downtown Ann Arbor’s history as an outstanding dining, art and music destination is one of the main factors that drew us to the city,” said Mark Sellers, founder of HopCat. “With a strong business community along with the University of Michigan, the city is a perfect fit for HopCat’s philosophy of offering a unique, comfortable environment to enjoy great beer and great food with friends.”

The first location of the craft beer bar opened in Grand Rapids in 2008, followed by an East Lansing location that opened in 2013

A location is also set to open in Detroit this November, with another location called Broad Ripple in Indianapolis scheduled to open next month.
