The Junior League of Detroit is hosting “Sneak A Peek” tours of the Charles T. Fisher mansion, Boston-Edison’s largest home, on April 28 and 29.
The elaborate, 18,000-square-foot mansion features 14 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, a prohibition-era liquor vault, and a gym. Actor Hill Harper bought the mansion last year for a whopping $1.25 million.
This leg of tours precedes a scheduled transformation of the 1922 mansion that will, “…bring this magnificent home into the twenty-first century style and luxury…”
The Tudor-style home will be the Junior League of Detroit’s twenty-second Designers’ Show House, a biennial fundraising event for JLD’s various community-based projects. Proceeds from the April tours benefit their Project
EAT program.
Project EAT (Education, Access, and Tools) works to tackle food insecurity in metro Detroit by providing families in need with healthy meal kits and a “well-equipped” kitchen so the families can cook and eat together.
Tickets for the Fisher mansion tours will be available at the door for $10 a person, strollers and pets not allowed. Tours are on April 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and April 29 from noon to 4 p.m.
Post-transformation tours will be from September 15 to October 7.
