Tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 7, you, Michigan resident, have the chance to exercise your greatest right — the right to vote.
The primary election features candidates in races for governor, Congress, state House and Senate, and more. Because it is a primary, you can only vote for one of three parties — Democrat, Republican, or Libertarian.
Voting is generally pretty simple. If you're registered, you can do it between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. at your local precinct, with or without ID (though having ID is helpful).
If you're unsure if you're registered and/or where you're registered, you can log on to the Secretary of State's website to find out. You can also use the site to view a sample ballot in your jurisdiction.
If you can't make it to your precinct tomorrow and have already requested and received an absentee ballot, you can drop it off (or have someone drop it for you) at your local clerk's office until 8 p.m.
