Giordano's Chicago-style deep dish pizzeria is planning a Detroit location

Chicago deep dish masters Giordano's are working on opening a Detroit location.

MLive first reports that a Girdano's sign is up at 1224 Randolph St. in a space that previously housed a Bagger Dave's, which closed in 2015.

The Detroit location is Giordano's second in Michigan and 16th across the nation. The other Michigan store is in Holland.

Detroiters who have dined at PizzaPapalis will be familiar with Chicago-style deep dish.

MLive notes that Giordano's has been named Chicago's best pizzeria by outlets like NBC, CBS Chicago, the New York Times, Chicago Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Eater, Home & Garden Magazine and more.
