In all four cities, according to the Detroit-based Triangle Foundation, the ballot measures were an attempt to strip gays and lesbians of equal protection under the law by repealing current statutes and preventing future ones from being passed.
“They have failed to spread their campaign of bigotry and divisiveness in Michigan,” the Triangle Foundation’s Sean Kosofsky said about the “virulently anti-gay” AFA.

“Republicans who are concerned about sexual morality and traditional Biblical ethics on homosexuality are astounded that the Republican Party seems to be trying to play this moral issue down the middle,” LaBarbera says.
