Draymond Green is expanding his financial sights outside of basketball.
The three-time NBA champion for the Golden State Warriors and former MSU basketball player is partnering up with New York-based fitness chain Blink Fitness to open a new fitness center in Warren.
Green, in partnership with Tom Shumaker of Grosse Pointe, hopes to open 20 Blink Fitness centers across Michigan and Illinois,
The Saginaw-native shared his sentiments about his interest in providing people with access to physical fitness:
"Every community should have access to clean and affordable indoor spaces to get fit and unfortunately, there are too many places that don't have any options. I know this personally. Growing up in Saginaw, there were no gyms and in fact, I never set foot in a proper gym until my freshman year at Michigan State. That's why our focus has been on providing Warren and similar communities across the Midwest with a better option for physical fitness, to improve community health for people of all ages."
The Warren location will be located in the Hoover 11 shopping center at 26475 Hoover Road. The first Blink Fitness location in Michigan will be 15,000 sq. feet and will offer studio-only fitness packages for $15 per month.
Currently, Blink Fitness has more than 70 locations in the greater New York City area alone, as well as locations in Syracuse, Philadelphia, Boston, and California.
