November 1, 1900 was a very dramatic news day. Three students were expelled from The University of Michigan's medical department after a skull cap of a corpse mysteriously went missing. However, as the article states, the skull cap remains missing. The wife of Dr. Stevens received a shock that nearly killed her just from turning on an electric light, though it appears she recovered fully. Finally, Joseph B. Haviland of Detroit is in dangerous condition after he accidentally shot himself in the armpit while hunting.
