For those who think the Occupy movement has faded away — we have news for you. And, for those of you who believe that everyone is just sitting back and accepting the fact that an appointed Emergency Manager is free to call all the shots when it comes to governing Detroit and other cities in Michigan— we have news for you,  too.

It’s the same news, actually.

This Saturday, Aug. 17, the folks from Occupy Detroit and a host of fellow travelers will be hosting in informational forum focused on issues related to the state’s emergency manager law.

Among the topics to be discussed will be the threat to pensions and health benefit cuts for retired municipal workers, the situation involving the Detroit Public  Schools and how they have been affected by emergency management, the danger posed to Detroit’s publicly  owned water system, an an update on the two federal lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the EM law, and much more.

The free event is being held at Samaritan Center, 5555 Conner St., # 2244, Detroit. Things kick off at 9:30 a.m., and will run into the early afternoon.
