Dlectricity, Detroit's worthy attempt at a nuit blanche, celebrated its second year a few weeks ago. It was pretty cool. We went. A lot of other people went too. In fact, it attracted double the crowd it did its first year. Which is pretty impressive. The Light Bike Ride saw 2,500 participants, which is four times the number it attracted the first time around. That's pretty impressive, too.

But, it'd be nice if those spectators made it into Detroit on any old Friday night, huh? Even just a quarter of them, really. After all, Midtown has bars, galleries, restaurants, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Public Library, the MOCAD, the science center, and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History EVERY OTHER night of the year as well.
