DIA to provide free busing for Wayne County residents on Wayne County Day

The DIA is making an offer that might be hard for Wayne County residents to refuse: it will provide free bus transportation  for Wayne County residents to and from the museum on Saturday, July 26 as part of its second "Wayne County Day." Admission to the DIA has already been free for residents of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties ever since the passage of a millage tax so all you really have to do is show up.

The Wayne County Day bus schedule is below:

Downriver Council for the Arts, 81 Chestnut, Wyandotte

Bus departs Council for the Arts at 10 a.m.

Bus departs DIA at 2:30 p.m.

Westland Public Library, 6123 Central Pkwy., Westland.

Bus departs library at 9:30 a.m.

Bus departs DIA at 2 p.m.

Matrix Human Services Center, 13560 McNichols E., Detroit

Bus departs Matrix at 10 a.m. (park at rear of building)

Bus departs DIA at 2:30 p.m.

Don Bosco Hall, 19321 W. Chicago, Detroit

Bus departs hall at 10 a.m. (park by soccer field, rear of park)

Bus departs DIA at 2:30 p.m.

Livonia Community Recreation Center, 15100 Hubbard, Livonia

Bus departs recreation center at 9:30 a.m. (use 5 Mile Rd. parking lot east of rec center entrance)

Bus departs DIA at 2 p.m.

Brownstown Event Center, 23345 King Road, Brownstown

Bus departs event center at 9:30 a.m.

Bus departs DIA at 2 p.m.

The DIA is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. General admission for non-residents is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors ages over 62, $4 for ages 6–17. Call 313-833-7971 or check out DIA.org for more information.
