Local singer Rico Lavelle sang the national anthem on Sunday's Lions game against the Atlanta Falcons. At the end of the last song, Lavelle took a knee on the word "brave," joining other players who were taking a knee. You can watch a clip of the performance below.

President Donald Trump's comments about athletes taking a knee during the national anthem as a form of protest sparked outrage as many saw it as him telling private citizens that they shouldn't use their first amendment rights. Trump wants NFL owners to fire players who decide to take a knee.
Detroit Lions owner Martha Ford released a statement this morning denouncing Trump's comments.
