Gov. Rick Snyder has declared the next seven days Michigan Trails Week to encourage folks to get out and explore the 12,000-some miles of trails our fine state has to offer.
“Michigan’s trail system is one of our state’s real jewels,” Snyder said in a press release. “It provides unlimited recreational opportunities to people of all ages and skill levels. Being active outdoors is a great way to stay healthy and celebrate our state’s beauty and abundant natural resources."
The week is packed with trail-related events, including various kick-off celebrations, guided tours of both dirt and water trails, and even a People and Pooch hike.
For the Detroit cycling enthusiast, do check out these close-to-home trails as well.
We'll see you out there.
