Within months, 101.9 WDET-FM will be joining other favorite radio stations with 24-hour live Webcasting. According to WDET public relations director Kevin Piotrowski, fiber-optic cables have been installed and technical components are currently being tested. Everyone’s hoping the station will be live online in approximately 30-60 days, but it’ll be obvious when the ’cast is up and sounding. DJs will be boasting; the home page (www.wdetfm.org) will be arrowing toward the “click here!” button and we’ll write about it again. So all displaced Detroiters, wherever they may be, who’ve been e-mailing that they miss their WDET can soon rest easy to the sound of arts and information programming from the campus of Wayne State University.
