We got word of this too late to get it into the paper, but we're so excited we just have to announce it online: Blowfly is coming to town.
He's known as "the Original Dirty Rapper," but Blowfly is more than an outrageous performer in a crazy costume. He's like the black Tesco Vee. His hilarious X-rated songs like "Electric Pussy Sucker" and "Shittin' on the Dock of the Bay" might make it difficult to believe that he's the same dude who penned songs for Sam and Dave and K.C. & the Sunshine Band, but, make no mistake, this 75-year-old knows how to put on a show. No word yet on the cover, but if you like out-there performances, you gotta see this to believe it. He's scheduled to perform Sunday, Sept. 21, at the New Dodge Lounge, 8850 Joseph Campau St., Hamtramck; 313-874-5963.
