Suffice it to say, we dig Banksy, the mysterious international street artist. We were geeked when his graffiti appeared in and around Detroit four years ago, we laughed our asses off when someone painted a fake Banksy in Hamtramck on April Fools' Day, and we leapt at the opportunity to revisit the whole damn saga when the 555 Gallery announced that they were planning on selling the Banksy Packard Plant painting they originally said they removed in order to preserve.

We were also amused when we were reminded of an exclusive interview that Banksy did with the Village Voice last year, in which he said he approached the alt weekly with a big scoop because he "feels an affinity with people who provide quality content for free on street corners." That's what we strive for here at Metro Times: free quality content on street corners.

If you haven't read our cover story about Banksy, the Packard Plant, and the 555 Gallery, check it out now.
