Big bother — Am I annoying? Usually, if you have to ask … Yet it seems so often that the most annoying individuals never actually pose this question. Thus, the makers of amiannoying.com have taken the task upon themselves and created a Web site where users can rank the general annoying-ness of various figures in entertainment, politics and pop culture.
Log on to the site, and you’ll be presented with a random profile — usually a celebrity but sometimes a television show, magazine, musical group or some other entity — and the reasons why said person or object is annoying and not annoying (balanced, no?). The user then has the ability to rank said person: Annoying, Not or Undecided.
The site is surprisingly in-depth, with numerous categories of annoying-ites, which range from the broad issues of religion and popular music to more extremely specific subcategories: “industrial rockers,” “America’s Next Top Model” and “I Probably Banged Jennifer Lopez.”
There’s also a section ranking the week’s most- or least-annoying individual pages. (For the week of Oct. 16, the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was most annoying, weighing in at 84.40 percent, and Peanuts founder Charles M. Schulz was found least irritating, with a ranking of only 33.01 percent. Proving you don’t have to be alive to be annoying.)
