LOHAS wha? No, that's not J. Lo's latest animal-butchering clothing line — it's short for Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability. Background info, tips and links to books and other resources pertaining to the LOHAS way of life can be found at lohas.com and, amusingly enough, treehugger.com.
And if you think all this sustainable living talk means frumpy hemp-sewn tunics and dumpy, bland architecture, you're wrong, baby! The Sustainable Style Foundation (sustainablestyle.org) is dedicated to sustainable living with an eye toward design. Their quarterly online magazine SASS (Style and Sustainability Seasonal) even has a swimsuit issue! However, we're not really sure if the malnourished-looking scantily clad model (actress Odette Yustman) on the cover constitutes progress — the sickly looking little waif isn't exactly what we'd think of as the poster girl for sustainability.
