As our fearless leader (you know, the one who ducked hazardous duty in Vietnam by serving a cush stateside assignment in the Air National Guard) laid out the case for war in his State of the Union address, he once again reminded Americans of his devout faith in the Almighty.
Such hypocrisy prompted one devotee of the lefty online site buzzflash.com to tweak the popular “What Would Jesus Do?” catchphrase, changing it to “Who Would Jesus Bomb?”
The poignancy of that question cannot be lost on peace activists near and far as they continue to raise their voices in protest of an administration that even Time magazine has described as “Hell bent on war.”
Organizers are predicting a “massive” turnout for a protest scheduled for New York City on Saturday, Feb. 15. Being staged in conjunction with similar actions expected to take place in cities around the globe, the NYC rally has yet to gain needed permits from city officials. Anyone interested in helping apply pressure to make that happen — and provide a forum for such speakers as Bishop Desmond Tutu, Julian Bond and Martin Luther King III, can log onto the Web site www.unitedforpeace.org.
