Zeke Anders is a filmmaker now based in Los Angeles who grew up in Dearborn. His five-part vlog series, American Seoul, recounts his experiences growing up as a Korean adoptee to a white middle class family, with the first episode premiering on YouTube on July 29. The vlog has received attention from outlets from 24/7 Kpop to Angry Asian Man to Asian American News.
Anders will return to Detroit as a speaker at "Vlogzilla: The Art of the Vlog" on Thursday, Nov. 6 at the Detroit Institute of Arts. The lecture will look at how everyone from "established filmmakers to soccer moms" have used this new medium of expression, and Anders will discuss vlogging as an art form in itself.
