Once considered a candidate for the wrecking ball, recent media attention (garnered from the theft of its lion’s-head architectural accents) hipped preservationists to the destructive plans. Attempts to purchase the building are awaiting approval in the glacial State Preservation Office.
As for now, only nonpaying tenants populate the building. Most of the large windows are out, the stairwells have been turned into landfills and overgrown weeds scale the west side of the building.
