Projekt Gift

Apparently 311 still has fans. Or at least Harper Woods-based Projekt Gift are still fans. It's 311's chukka-chukka guitars and soulful tokes on the mic that Gift cops most, but at least they're enjoying themselves, which is what their heroes' music was always about anyway.
At 9 p.m., March 10, New Dodge.
Cuddleslut

If Cuddleslut's MySpace page can barely hold it together, imagine the cuts, scrapes and carnage this Detroit crew might bring to the stage. The photos are full of cake mix, blood and exposed skin that's sometimes bleeding for real, while the music bangs hardcore riffs stripped from Agnostic Front's Victim in Pain into yip-yell vocals from the Kathleen Hannah school. Sample song title: "It Doesn't Fucking Matter," and Cuddleslut might be right. But if you miss their gig, how will you ever know?
At 11:30 p.m., March 10, Polish Sea League.
